G/Wh - Gallons Per Watt Hour
PHCC Pro Series Pumps have come up with a new way to help contractors/homeowners evaluate sump pump energy efficiency and performance.

Simply stated, G/Wh links efficiency and performance by illustrating how many gallons of water are pumped using one (1) watt of electricity. Click here to learn more!

ENERGY STAR

Over the past year we’ve applied to be part of the ENERGY STAR program, which is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy. The ENERGY STAR program is designed to help save money and protect the environment, through energy efficient products and practices.

The EPA says “Energy efficient choices can save families about a third on their energy bill with similar savings of greenhouse gas emissions, without sacrificing features, style or comfort. ENERGY STAR helps you make the energy efficient choice. If looking for new household products, look for ones that have earned the ENERGY STAR. They meet strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the EPA and US Department of Energy.”

We’re very much in favor of this program, we do believe it helps consumers make the most energy efficient choice, however, the EPA at this point, does not recognize sump pumps as a category for inclusion in the program.

So our mission in 2009 is to partner with ENERGY STAR in hopes of creating a category that covers dewatering pumps. When ENERGY STAR does create a category for sump pumps, we’re confident we’ll meet the necessary requirements and be the first sump pump to carry the ENERGY STAR label.
